2020 was a period of time which allowed projects that previously only inhabited the field of ideas to mature – and, if there's anything TROOP owns, it's ideas. The social distancing paradoxically made us even closer to several artists we admire and who already worked with the group.

As a result of discussions during this period, we now present the first TROOP Records label release, bringing together artists that establish the relationship between organic and electronic music, which is something essential for the development of conceptual, avant-garde Brazilian and world music.

Ivan Conti, Mamao, 1946, Brazilian drummer, member of the jazz fusion instrumental trio Azymuth, took part in several recordings of some iconic Brazilian artists (Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Milton Nascimento, to name a few) and orchestras. He has been an active figure in the music scene since the 1960s.

Fred P, also known as Black Jazz Consortium, FP-Oner and Anomaly, is one of the main exponents of house music, for deep and techno, in the last 30 years, established between New York and Berlin. Owner of the Lush Culture, Private Society and Soul People Music labels, he has more than 100 records released.

Ney Faustini, a DJ whose career and experience span more than 20 years at the main clubs and festivals held in Brazil, also a producer, with releases by international labels such as Fox Trax, Foul & Sunk and Appian Sounds. He is a deep Brazilian music connoisseur and a TROOP resident.

Stk Ensemble, one of the projects formed by Ale Reis and Renee, who also sign as Stekke, STK, among other projects and collaborations. From their passion towards analog equipment, sound design, textures and vinyl, they run the label Sudd Records, with influences from Old School House such as Detroit, Chicago, NYC.

XDB, Kosta Athanassiadis, DJ, producer, owner of Metrolux Music label, is a Berlin techno veteran with releases on several labels, including Echocord and Sistrum, with over 30 years of career.

From Ivan Conti's drum licks and riffs, these five artists unfold collab versions for ‘Psycho Trooper’, forming a dense kaleidoscope of contemporary electronic music. We present four tracks that mix the legendary instrumentalist's organic drums with our guests' machines. The result is music of guaranteed quality, available digitally from September 3rd, 2021, at TROOP Records' Bandcamp.
